In Rocky III, Rocky Balboa's manager, Mickey Goldmill died, and Rocky turned to his friend Apollo Creed to train him for his rematch against the dangerous Clubber Lang. One of Apollo's training techniques was to race Rocky. When Rocky showed that he wasn't willing to put in the effort to beat Apollo in a race, Apollo had to make Rocky get back the eye of the tiger.
