This print commemorates the Sheridan Prize Race. It is an annual sailboat race that started in 1874 and launched the Lake Geneva Yacht Club. The first race took place on Aug 31st, 1874 to honor Lt. General Philip Sheridan, the Civil War hero, who was visiting friends in Lake Geneva. The race today is all A Scows. All prints are signed.
